Arsenal are close to signing Oleksandr Zinchenko from Manchester City, but they might not be done in terms of their summer spending just yet.
A deal for Zinchenko – which is said to be close to being completed – would take Arsenal’s summer spending beyond the £100m barrier for the second successive year. Gabriel Jesus and Fabio Vieira have signed for big money, while Marquinhos and Matt Turner have also come in to strengthen the ranks.

And while Zinchenko is set to cost another £30m+ for Arsenal, Sky Sports’ Dharmesh Sheth has claimed that Mikel Arteta might not be done just yet with his summer spree.
“They’re still in the market to bring in players. I think the right-wing position is something they want to strengthen. They were in for Raphinha and didn’t get him. Are they just going to leave that position alone? I don’t think so,” Sheth said.
“Gabriel Jesus is seen as a number 9. Nketiah has signed a new contract. I think they’ll still be in the market for someone on that right side. Arsenal have backed Arteta all the way. There might still be a big one left in the window.”
Arsenal’s main man down the right at the moment is Bukayo Saka. The England man is set to sign a new contract, too, in another boost for the Gunners.
TBR’s View: Arsenal Going For It Under Arteta
This is a plus for the club as a whole. They are spending big to try and bridge the gap and Mikel Arteta has clearly got the full buy in from his board.
However, pressure will come quickly now if results aren’t good enough. Spending such sums comes with pressure, and Arteta must now deliver the goods in the form of a trophy or, even better, the top four.
