Spurs completed the signing of Bryan Gil on Monday.

And Sky Sports commentator and La Liga expert Terry Gibson thinks Tottenham fans are in for a treat.

According to Sky in Italy, Spurs paid Sevilla £21.6million for Gil, who has penned a five-year contract at N17.

In addition, Tottenham have parted company with Erik Lamela, who has gone the other way.

Gibson – a former Spurs player – said about Gil on Sky Sports News (5:41pm, July 26, 2021): “He is a player that people will enjoy watching.

“He is an old-fashioned winger, great at dribbling, great first touch, good passer of the ball.

“And, as you can tell, I am absolutely delighted that Spurs have managed to sign him.”

Gil came through the ranks at Sevilla and has made 21 senior appearances to date for the club.

The 20-year-old has taken in loan stints at Leganes and Eibar, and he was especially impressive in the latter.

Although he couldn’t prevent the Basque club from finishing bottom of La Liga, he stood out with his dynamic displays.

Gil recorded four goals and three assists in 28 La Liga games.

He has also made his debut for Spain, winning his first cap in a 1-1 World Cup qualifying draw with Greece.

And he is currently playing for La Roja’s Olympic team at Tokyo 2020.

Subject to international clearance, Bryan will join up with Spurs at the conclusion of the Olympics.
