Arsenal have been in pursuit of a number of players in the January transfer window, but there haven’t been any moves as of yet.
For instance, Arsenal tried their luck with a £70million bid for Ollie Watkins, and Arsenal also made an approach for Evan Ferguson.
The Gunners have potentially landed a signing for the summer as Martin Zubimendi has agreed a move to Arsenal for the end of the season.
However, with just a few hours until the transfer window shuts, there hasn’t been any movement in terms of late deals at N5.
Now, Sky Sports News journalist Gary Cotterill has shared what he’s now heard from Arsenal late on deadline day.

Arsenal set to make no winter signings ahead of transfer deadline day
Cotterill, speaking live from the Emirates Stadium, said he’s been told that Arsenal won’t be signing anyone this month.
“I’m told, and it is my understanding, that there will be no ins and no outs today at Arsenal and indeed in the whole of January,” said Cotterill.
“No business, we understand, at Arsenal.”
Cotterill went on to say: “As things stand, with less than three hours to go – Arsenal now very unlikely to do any business in or out today.
“Club focused on adding to the squad in the summer.”
Who Arsenal have signed in previous deadline days
Arsenal have shown in recent years that deadline day deals can come from out of nowhere.
In years gone by, the Gunners have done a decent amount of signings on the last day of the window.

| Summer 2024 | Raheem Sterling, Neto |
| Winter 2024 | None |
| Summer 2023 | None |
| Winter 2023 | Jorginho |
| Summer 2022 | None |
| Winter 2022 | None |
| Summer 2021 | Takehiro Tomiyasu |
| Winter 2021 | None |
| Summer 2020 | Thomas Partey |
| Winter 2020 | None |
| Summer 2019 | Kieran Tierney, David Luiz |

For instance, deadline day in the summer of 2024 saw updates go on late into the night as Arsenal landed Raheem Sterling on loan from Chelsea.
However, this looks set to be a quiet one for Arsenal. The new striker the Gunners have been looking for will most likely not materialise in the coming hours.
Arsenal legend Ian Wright claimed a few weeks ago that signing a new striker would go a long way to allaying feelings of anxiety around Arsenal.
“There’s a desperation, and I don’t know if it’s just me, but there seems to be a desperation,” said Wright.
“If Arsenal take those chances, the whole landscape of what our people are speaking about is totally different but they haven’t – for me, we have to get the striker.”
