The worrying thing Sky Sports journalist noticed about Pep Guardiola towards end of Manchester City draw with Everton

Manchester City are now winless in five games after drawing 1-1 with Everton in their Premier League Boxing Day encounter at the Etihad Stadium.

The Citizens only have one win in their past 13 games after failing to get the better of a well-organised Toffees outfit.

Manchester City opened the scoring in the 14th minute when Bernardo Silva’s effort took a deflection off Jarrad Branthwaite and looped into the far corner.

However, Everton equalised out of the blue on 36 minutes through Illiman Ndiaye, who skilfully controlled Abdoulaye Doucoure’s pass and volleyed past Stefan Ortega.

Neither side could find a winner in the second half, with Erling Haaland seeing a penalty saved by Jordan PIckford, while the follow-up was ruled out for offside.

Sky Sports News journalist Peter Stevenson shared what he noticed about Man City boss Pep Guardiola which suggests all is not well at the Etihad Stadium.

Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola ‘looks so frustrated’ and ‘weary’

Just after half time, Stevenson said on Sky Sports News: “Guardiola’s had a last minute chat with several players in the tunnel.

“He looks very animated, and a man with plenty on his mind.”

However, towards the end of the Premier League game, Stevenson said: “Guardiola looks so frustrated, and, to be honest, weary as well.

“Climbing out of this decline is proving hard than most people suspected. A lot of City’s play has been ponderous. Players just don’t look confident on the ball.”

How media and pundits reacted to Man City display and result

Stevenson also commented on how there were boos from the home stands at full-time.

“Disappointing. Frustrating. Below par,” he said. “All suitable to describe City’s latest setback, which was greeted with a smattering of boos.

“Despite taking the lead, they never looked convincing against a battling Everton side.

“Haaland’s poor penalty miss summed up City’s day. Everton will take huge encouragement from earning another point against a third top Premier League side on the bounce.”

Meanwhile, Shaun Wright-Phillips told Premier League Productions: “City had the chances to make it a different story, and they didn’t take them.

“In the Premier League, if you don’t take the chances, you get punished, and they’ll be gutted. They’ll know this is three points missed for them.”

And Paul Robinson told BBC Sport: “There’s two sides to this story.

“We will talk all day about Manchester City’s failings. They are a team with no confidence. They are good sometimes but they do not take the risk with the ball.

“The other side is Everton and Sean Dyche. His players will be absolutely delighted with this.”

Man City fans were also not happy with Haaland’s latest misfiring display.
