Arsenal are continuing to monitor Everton and England striker, Dominic Calvert-Lewin, ahead of a potential January move if they fail to land Dusan Vlahovic from Fiorentina.
Calvert-Lewin has been on the radar of Arsenal since the summer but his name has not gone away since the January window rolled around. Indeed, the Everton star is said to have wowed the Arsenal coaching team, and he is right up the list in terms of potential signings.

And according to Sky Sports this evening, Calvert-Lewin is firmly still in Arsenal’s sights. Speaking on the Transfer Centre live show this evening, Sky’s Dharmesh Sheth believes it’s one to keep an eye on this month.
“Arsenal are also casting their eye over Dominic Calvert-Lewin,” Sheth said when discussing Vlahovic.
“It’d be very difficult to do a deal for him in this transfer window. But maybe one to keep an eye on for the rest of this month – and potentially in the summer as well.”
Arsenal continue to monitor the proceedings around Vlahovic. However, the player is looking increasingly likely to stay in Florence this January. A summer move, then, is more likely to happen for the Serbian.
Calvert-Lewin, meanwhile, will be hoping the change in manager at Everton can see him back to his best. Rafa Benitez has been sacked, with Duncan Ferguson in charge for this weekend’s clash with Villa.
TBR’s View: Calvert-Lewin Is A Healthy Option For Arsenal
For all the talk of Vlahovic, there is a lot of upside to going for Calvert-Lewin. You’re talking about an England international here who has bags of experience at this level. Crucially, he’s still young enough as well to fit with Arsenal’s current transfer model.
If the move for Vlahovic does fall flat, then Calvert-Lewin is a good option. Even if it does cost the Gunners the reported £60m Everton want for ‘DCL’.
