Tottenham Hotspur loanee Gareth Bale has been praised by Sky Sports pundit Alan Smith, who believes the Spurs forward is finally showing the kind of quality that persuaded Daniel Levy to “move heaven and earth” to sign him.
Much was expected from the Wales international after he rejoined Tottenham on loan from Real Madrid in September.
Bale sadly hasn’t had the best season so far amid injuries and a lack of fitness, but he’s finally starting to move up the gears.

The 31-year-old has two goals and two assists from his last three games, and as well as netting Tottenham’s third against Wolfsberger in midweek, he was always looking to make things happen.
Smith, writing in the Evening Standard, focused on Bale’s performance against West Ham, the player coming on at half time and looking incredibly sharp as he claimed an assist from a corner and struck the woodwork.
“On for the second half, Gareth Bale was finally showing the class that had persuaded chairman Daniel Levy to move heaven and earth to bring him to north London,” he wrote.
“The sharpness of movement and thought was causing all sorts of bother.”
TBR View:
After several months of increasing scrutiny over Bale’s form and fitness, it’s fantastic to finally see him nearing his best.
Mourinho is a manager who demands the highest standards and, with Tanguy Ndombele now shining, hopefully it’ll be Bale’s turn next.
