Sky Sports pundit Andy Walker has described Celtic ace Ismaila Soro as a “breath of fresh air”, but feels Hoops boss Neil Lennon will go with Scott Brown in midfield for today’s big derby clash.
The 22-year-old has had to bide his time this term, with much of his early-season involvement spent on the bench, but since returning to the starting XI, he has been thoroughly impressive.
Soro has started Celtic’s last four Scottish Premiership games, all of which have resulted in clean-sheet wins for the Bhoys.
Indeed, the Ivory Coast ace was especially superb in the 3-0 win over Dundee United last time out, registering a goal and an assist.
His efforts have been key in Celtic returning to form just in time for the trip to Rangers, but despite this, Walker feels Lennon will opt for Brown instead.
“Team selection is always interesting, and if I was Lennon I’d go with Ismaila Soro in this game,” he wrote on Sky Sports.
“I feel he’s a breath of fresh air for Celtic, and he’s got great energy. But I suspect Lennon will go with experience and Scott Brown.
“He did it for the cup final, and he’s had a bit of a rest. I feel he’ll bring him back for this game as well knowing the experience he’s got.”
Lennon is obviously a big fan of Brown, who has been sensational for Celtic over the years and, if anyone knows how to get under Rangers’ skin, it’s the Hoops enforcer.
If we’re talking about players in form, then you really can’t look past Soro, who has been superb in recent games, but Walker won’t be the only one who feels that Brown may be reinstated.
