It’s transfer deadline day, and while everything seems to be a bit quiet at the moment, you can never discount the idea of a late twist at the very end of the window.

Indeed, as we all ought to know by now, anything can happen in the final hours of a transfer window.

Tottenham Hotspur usually have a trick or two up their sleeves on deadline day, and there are a few ongoing stories at Spurs to keep an eye on.

Antonio Nusa has been strongly linked with Tottenham as of late, and while that deal looks unlikely at the moment, you can never say never.

According to Sky Sports’ Michael Bridges, speaking on the Transfer Talk Podcast, Nusa is unlikely to join Tottenham today, but if this deal is to happen, it would be at the last possible moment.

Nusa would be very late

Bridges spoke about the £26m man.

“Antonio Nusa is a name that has been mentioned, that one is stalling, will Spurs look to resurrect their interest?” Bridges was asked.

“I don’t think so Pete, but if that comes up that will be last minute, late, it was well-documented that Sprs were in contact with his representatives, Spurs only spoke to the club once or twice, they’re quite relaxed because they know he will end up going. Then we had the news about a back issue and knee problems, whether Brentford are still willing to pay what they were going to pay, I’m not sure, but in terms of Spurs, I would say unlikely,” Bridges said.

One to watch

As we say, deadline day can throw up any type of twist, and while this is unlikely, it’s still one to watch.

Of course, Brentford are leading this race right now, but any further complications could allow Tottenham to swoop and get this deal done.

There are still some twists and turns to come here, and Nusa may be one to keep an eye on towards tonight’s deadline.
