Sky journalist Kaveh Solhekol shares verdict on Mudryk to Arsenal talks

Sky Sports reporter Kaveh Solhekol is confident that Arsenal will sign Mykhaylo Mudryk this month.

The Gunners have been in talks with Shakhtar Donetsk over the Ukraine international over the past few weeks.

There hasn’t been a breakthrough just yet, but the latest reports suggest things are on the right track for Arsenal.

Earlier today, football.london reported that a deal for Arsenal to sign Mudryk is now close to being done.

Apparently, talks are now focusing on what add-ons and extras the Gunners will pay.

Goal.com also appear to corroborate what football.london have said.

They suggest that there is now a belief among both parties that a deal for Mudryk will indeed be completed.

Amid the reported negotiations, the player himself continues to drop intriguing hints about his future.

Now, Solhekol has shared his opinion on the Mudryk to Arsenal talks.

On The Transfer Show, he claimed it would be surprising if the 21-year-old wasn’t a Gunners player by deadline day.

“I get the feeling that this deal is moving in the right direction,” he said, via the Sky Sports website (13/1/23, 17:10).

“It’d be surprising if Mudryk didn’t end up being an Arsenal player by the end of the transfer window.

“It’d be a fantastic signing for Arsenal.

“The crucial thing is the player wants to move to Arsenal. He’s made that pretty clear over the last few weeks.

“Talks between the clubs have been going on and on over the last few weeks. And I think they are moving in the right direction.

“Shakhtar will let him leave for the right price and it is just a case of structuring a deal in a way that everyone is happy.”

Surely a matter of time now

Interestingly, Sky Sports were reportedly told later in the day that Chelsea were themselves still in talks over Mudryk.

However – and it’ll come as a surprise to nobody by this point – ‘the player prefers a move to Arsenal’.

Hopefully everything continues to go well as it has been for the past few days.

And hopefully, we soon then get that all-important ‘clubs have agreed a fee’ report that paves the way for the holy grail that is the official announcement.
