It seems quite a while back now since all the talk was of Arsenal trying to sign Tammy Abraham from Chelsea.
Of course, that talk was around just six months ago. Abraham, now with Roma after Jose Mourinho took him over to Italy, was a wanted man. Indeed, back in August, Fabrizio Romano had claimed that Arsenal really wanted to sign Abraham, but just couldn’t get a deal over the line.
Eventually, English interest in Abraham petered out and the big striker signed for Roma for around £34m. There was, naturally, some big question marks over the deal, both from a Chelsea perspective and a Roma one. However, just six months or so down the line, and it seems Abraham made the right move.
Abraham Out On His Own
There was always a big talent there with Tammy Abraham. He’d shown it in loan spells at Bristol City and Aston Villa and then again when Frank Lampard took the reins at Chelsea. Under Thomas Tuchel, he suffered a bit and eventually, the move to Roma made sense.

Since then, he hasn’t half impressed in Serie A. And as of today, he is now out on his own as the top English goalscorer in all of Europe’s top five leagues, with 11. (Squawka)
The likes of Harry Kane (5), and even the brilliant Jarrod Bowen at West Ham can’t get near Abraham at the moment.
Arsenal Left To Rue Another Transfer
Gunners fans will want to stop talking about strikers soon. For one, they can’t seem to land one. And two, the ones they do seem to want all seem to do exceptionally well elsewhere.
Dusan Vlahovic has started well with Juventus, and now with Abraham impressing in Rome, Arsenal will be wondering when it will be their turn.
At £34m, Abraham is now looking like a snip for Roma and the Gunners, meanwhile, are still plotting their way through the market in the hope of a breakthrough this summer. Jack Grealish once said Abraham was ‘unbelievable’, and he’s certainly looking that at the moment.
