‘Siuuu’, ‘things you love to see’: Some Arsenal fans react to exciting report on 23-year-old

A number of Arsenal fans have taken to Twitter to give their thoughts on the Evening Standard report suggesting Dani Ceballos’ loan spell with the Gunners is likely to be extended beyond 30 June.

Last summer, the Gunners brought Ceballos to the Emirates Stadium on a season-long stint from Real Madrid for a reported £15million fee (The Sun).

The 23-year-old was reportedly open to cutting short his stay in January as a result of a lack of game time, but has since worked his way into Mikel Arteta’s plans.

However, there is now huge uncertainty over when the 2019-20 season will finish, with English football suspended due to the global health crisis.

At present, the season is set to resume on 30 April, but this depends on how the situation unfolds, with the resumption date already pushed back once from 3 April.

One dilemma for clubs is regarding their players’ contracts, which either expire on 30 June or roll into the 2020-21 season, and if the current season goes beyond that date, there could be legal ramifications.

However, the Evening Standard has claimed that Arsenal’s hierarchy is are relaxed about the Ceballos situation and, although no formal talks have as yet taken place, senior figures at the club believe Real will not oppose an extension.

With so much uncertainty around at present, the report suggests the Gunners are in line for a huge boost with the post-season future of at least one player seemingly on course for a positive resolution.

Here is how some Arsenal fans reacted on social media:
