Sissoko’s return to training is a majorly unexpected boost for Tottenham

Moussa Sissoko has already returned to Tottenham Hotspur training.

The Frenchman limped off against Manchester United just days ago with a hamstring injury, and the expectation was that he’d be out for at least a few weeks.

A start against Chelsea on Thursday in the Carabao Cup semi-final second leg may come too soon, but it’s great news for the club nontheless, especially having just lost Dele Alli.

Reaction to Sissoko’s return says it all

Sissoko’s amazing turnaround at Spurs is demonstrated perfectly by the reaction from fans to his unexpected return to training.

A lot of those fans that wanted him sold in previous windows have well and truly change their tune, with the Frenchman having finally proven himself.

Sissoko took advantage of injuries to Mousa Dembele and Victor Wanyama and became Harry Winks’ centre midfield partner.

The dynamo has excelled in a deeper role, and is arguably now a regular starter under Mauricio Pochettino.

Here’s what some people made of the news that Sissoko is already back in the picture:
