Sir Alex Ferguson says reported Manchester City target is a truly 'excellent' player
Reported Manchester City target Harry Kane has been described by Sir Alex Ferguson as an “excellent” player.
The Tottenham Hotspur striker has been heavily linked with a move this summer, and the Citizens are said to be planning talks with Spurs over his signature, as reported by The Guardian.
Earlier this week, Kane spoke to Gary Neville on The Overlap and described Kevin De Bruyne as a “special, special player” whose deliveries are “a striker’s dream”.
The England international’s comments have fuelled speculation linking him with a move to the Etihad Stadium at the end of the season.
Neville also spoke to his former boss earlier this week as part of a Q&A on SPORTbible, with Ferguson asked about which current players he’d have liked to manage.
“I think Kane… I thought Dele Alli was going to be a top player, I must admit, I don’t know what’s happened there,” he said.
“But Kane’s totally been (a top player)… and the boy Son at Tottenham, these are excellent players… Aguero has been a terrific striker, no doubt about that.”
There’s no doubting Kane is a world class player who has won plaudits from virtually everyone in football, and when the great Sir Alex Ferguson calls you “excellent”, it’s especially great to hear.
He’d certainly bolster the City front line and, with Aguero leaving the Etihad this summer, Guardiola is bound to be after a new top striker, so it could very well happen.
