Simon Jordan says Liverpool would be the perfect fit for Jude Bellingham
Simon Jordan has told talkSPORT that Liverpool would be the perfect fit for Jude Bellingham, and suggested that the England international could eclipse what Steven Gerrard achieved if he went to Anfield.
Certainly, the future of Bellingham has come right under the microscope in recent times. The 19-year-old has been absolutely outstanding for England at the World Cup.
Of course, his performances will not have come as any surprise to those who have seen plenty of Bellingham. He is, without doubt, one of the most exciting talents in the world right now.
Liverpool perfect fit for Bellingham
Liverpool want the youngster, with 90min reporting that they were scouting him before the World Cup.
Rio Ferdinand claimed this week that he expects Bellingham to go to Manchester City. But when asked about his future, Jordan suggested that he would be best off joining Liverpool. And he insisted that he could become a legend on Merseyside.
“I think, will all due respect to the other clubs, if he were to go to Liverpool, it would regenerate Liverpool. I think he’d be the perfect player for Liverpool. And their brand of football would fit him perfectly. I think Klopp would be the ideal manager for him,” he told talkSPORT.
“He has the ability to go right to the very top. He has the look and feel of something who could actually eclipse Steven Gerrard if he went to Liverpool.
“My gut feeling is that Liverpool would be the perfect fit.”
It is remarkable to talk about what he could achieve in comparison with Gerrard. But that does highlight just how special Bellingham appears to be.
There is little concern about piling the pressure on the Borussia Dortmund star. It appears that he has no problem taking everything in his stride. And he has dealt with every challenge put in front of him so far.
Gerrard enjoyed plenty of success with the Reds. And few players in the club’s history have arguably been more popular than the 42-year-old.
But Bellingham is going to have a special career wherever he goes next. And if it is Liverpool who secure his signature, he could be a game-changing signing for Jurgen Klopp’s men.
