Amanda Staveley and her husband Mehrdad Ghodoussi have announced they will be departing from Newcastle United.
Eddie Howe has welcomed some of his players back to training this week as their pre-season efforts get underway.
Newcastle will be without some of their international players who will be enjoying an extended summer break following their participation in the Euros and Copa America.
However, there have not been a huge deal of changes to the squad in the transfer window with Lloyd Kelly marking the biggest addition with Elliot Anderson and Yankuba Minteh departing the club.
But there is set to be some significant changes made at board level with Staveley and Ghodoussi to offload their shares in the club.

What Simon Jordan said about Amanda Staveley and Mehrdad Ghodoussi‘s Newcastle exit
Over the years, Simon Jordan has walked a fine line with Newcastle fans when discussing their Saudi-based ownership.
The pundit infamously suggested there would be no chance the takeover would ever be completed; only for it to get over the line in 2021.
However, key to the takeover, Staveley and Ghodoussi, will now be selling their six per cent stake in the club.
And Jordan has now discussed his thoughts on the pair’s influence on the Magpies having orchestrated one of the most controversial takeovers in football.

Speaking in the wake of the news coming from St James’ Park, Jordan shared his honest thoughts on Staveley’s time on Tyneside.
“Amanda got them in the door. They bought Newcastle and you look at it for around £300 million, you look at a team in the Premier League for £300 million. When you look at clubs being sold for £2.5b, it’s a great deal. It’s a great deal, he said on TalkSPORT.
“And she was instrumental in that, but it wasn’t her money. So with all due respect, she was clever at manipulating the circumstances to get people that wanted to buy a football club. She orchestrated a deal. She got 10% shareholding out of it. She’s probably cashed out very nicely at that. Fair play to her.”
What will now happen with Amanda Staveley’s shares in Newcastle
When Staveley initially got the deal over the line for PIF to purchase Newcastle, she was handed a 10% stake in the club.
Over the years, that has been reduced down to six per cent with the Reuben brothers increasing their stake in the club.
Their remaining stakes in the club is going to be sold to one or both of the Reuben brothers and PIF.
What this means for Newcastle going forward will have to be seen but the fans will certainly be hoping new signings are to come swiftly.
