Simon Jordan believes Tottenham Hotspur are guaranteed to finish inside the top-four next season but has made a bittersweet prediction about their Champions League campaign.
Antonio Conte took charge of a Spurs side that looked down and out. Not many people believed they could bounce back from the position they were in, but the Italian got them where they wanted to be in the end.
Tottenham are a completely different side under Conte. They will fancy themselves against the best sides in Europe, and they will get a chance to do that in the Champions League next season.
Jordan had his say on Spurs’ European campaign next term. He claims he will not be surprised if Conte’s men get knocked out of the group stages of the Champions League – only to drop down to the Europa League and win that competition.
Simon Jordan says Tottenham could get knocked out of Champions League group stages
Speaking about Tottenham’s title chances, Jordan said on talkSPORT, as quoted by HITC: “No is the answer. They’re not going to challenge Manchester City or Liverpool because they aren’t at that level. Unless Manchester City and Liverpool drop their levels.
“What you are going to see with Tottenham Hotspur is a very different Tottenham. More substance. More backbone. The players that are coming in are more of a Conte type than what’s been there previously.
“I think Tottenham will finish in the top four. Stabilise in the top four. I wouldn’t be surprised if they got themselves into a situation where they got knocked out early in the Champions League, dropped into the Europa League and won that.
“But I think there is a cup for Tottenham next year.”

TBR View:
We don’t know if Tottenham will finally end their trophy drought next season, but they have never been in a better position to do so than now.
Spurs don’t really have players who know how to win big, but they have a manager who does now.
Conte is a proven winner and knows exactly what it takes to lift a trophy. He has been backed by Spurs as well now in the transfer window, and if every single player in that squad listens to him, there’s every chance that Tottenham will end their run of 5,136 days without silverware.
If even Conte cannot end Spurs’ trophy drought, this terrible run could go on for another decade.
