Simon Jordan makes exciting Tottenham prediction, has sympathy for Daniel Levy

Simon Jordan has told TalkSPORT – in a video posted on their YouTube – that he expects Daniel Levy to spring a big surprise in Tottenham’s managerial hunt. Spurs have been foiled by numerous managers now. But Jordan has sympathy for Levy, and says he will appoint a big manager at Tottenham.

Firstly, Ajax handed Erik Ten Hag a new deal. Brendan Rodgers has chosen to stay at Leicester. Spurs and Antonio Conte could not agree on numerous things. Paulo Fonseca’s move was hit the skids over financial issues and a fan backlash prevented Gennaro Gattuso. Now, they are back to square one.

Even this week, the president of Sevilla says a ‘dizzying’ offer from Tottenham was sent back by Julen Lopetegui. Ex-Palace owner and TalkSPORT pundit Jordan threw himself in defence of Levy, though. He has sympathy for Levy, and predicted a big-name appointment at Tottenham.

“I think Daniel will pull a very significant manager out of the hat. If Daniel isn’t worried, we shouldn’t be worried on his behalf,” Jordan told TalkSPORT on Thursday morning. “It must be incredibly difficult to negotiate a deal with Antonio Conte.

“It must be incredibly difficult to do a deal with a manager that believes in his own currency. They’ve gone after managers that are difficult nuts to crack. I think Tottenham will be fine, and they will surprise us.”

Tottenham manager news: Who are the frontrunners for Levy now, amid Jordan comments?

Ten Hag remains an option. While he has signed an extension at Ajax, not much has changed. It will just require another year’s worth of compensation to lure him away from the Dutch title winners. Roberto Martinez is a target, but Spurs might have to wait until the end of Euro 2020.

Brighton boss Graham Potter remains a target. The right way of football and good man management – but he does he have the calibre, the reputation to attract the right players? As Jordan says, Levy could spring a massive surprise.
