Simon Grayson has discussed Leeds United potentially signing Joe Hart in an interview with Daily Star, amid reports that the former England goalkeeper could be on his way to Elland Road this summer.
The Star claim in the same report that 33-year-old Hart has been mooted as a potential addition to the Elland Road side this summer, especially if the Whites gain promotion to the Premier League. Kiko Casilla remains suspended for another six games.
The report also claims that Celtic goalkeeper Fraser Forster – on loan from Southampton – is also an option, as is Manchester United’s reserve goalkeeper Sergio Romero. Former Leeds boss Grayson signed Hart on loan at Blackpool in 2007.
Grayson discussed Leeds potentially going after the former Manchester City star who is currently earning £45,000 a week at Burnley (Spotrac), and he is unsure if Orta will go for the Premier League champion – but described his career as “fantastic”.

“Joe has had a fantastic career. I had him on loan at Blackpool from Manchester City when he was a teenager,” Grayson said. “He showed what he is capable of back then and went on to have a fantastic career.
“Whether it’s what Leeds are looking for, I don’t know what Victor has in mind and knowing them they’ll probably pick someone that nobody has ever heard of.”
TBR’s view – Would Hart be a good addition for Leeds?
Marcelo Bielsa likes a goalkeeper that can play with the ball at his feet, such as Illan Meslier and Casilla. But the latter is more than likely to leave Elland Road this summer, especially after being found guilty of a racist altercation with Jonathan Leko.
Meslier, meanwhile, only remains on loan. Hart is a top, top goalkeeper but has fallen by the wayside over the last few seasons – and certainly there are question marks surrounding his ball-playing ability.
He is not a Bielsa-type goalkeeper and although he would be somewhat of a coup and a big-name signing that would excite fans, he is simply not the right kind of stopper.
