Thierry Henry is undoubtedly one of the best players in football history.
The Arsenal legend had it all, pace, power, brains and an incredible eye for goal.
Henry was a truly legendary player who influenced an entire generation of attackers, and speaking on the Premier League’s YouTube channel, Wayne Rooney has been discussing the Arsenal icon.
Interestingly, Rooney says that the way Kylian Mbappe plays his game reminds him a lot of Henry.
This comes just days after Mbappe was linked with a move to Arsenal, with reports stating that the World Cup winner actually wants to move to the Emirates in order to replicate Henry.

Kylian Mbappe is similar to Thierry Henry
Rooney shared his verdict on the PSG ace.
“Yeah he was quite different in how he played. You see players now like Mbappe and Rashford trying to play a similar way to how Henry did. For me Henry is the best player to ever player in the Premier League. The impact he had in that Arsenal team, the calmness, his finishing, pace and power, I don’t think we’ve seen anything like it, he was just incredible,” Rooney said.
Very similar
It’s impossible not to be reminded of Henry when you watch Mbappe.
That burst of pace is something that only a select few players have, and the fact that Mbappe emulates Henry often with his dribbles inside from the left is there for all to see.
Of course, the comparisons don’t stop there. The fact that both men are French superstars plays into this comparison even more, and if Mbappe does end up joining Arsenal, the Henry comparisons will be made more and more.
