Diogo Jota has really stepped up at Liverpool in recent weeks.
The Portuguese star has been incredible since Mohamed Salah headed off to the African Cup of Nations, and a brace against Bournemouth at the weekend further highlighted his qualities.
Speaking on Premier League Productions, Tim Sherwood has been full of praise for the attacker, and he compared the signing of Jota at Liverpool to the signing of Leandro Trossard at Arsenal, claiming that both players, although they’re different, they both have that same feeling that they’re always on the pitch to impact a game rather than to just be passengers.

Trossard is like Jota
Sherwood spoke about Jota and Trossard.
“He can miscontrol it like that, and then jump on it, he’s always a threat, and he affects the game, Trossard can do a similar thing at Arsenal but he’s not as effective, but he’s been equally as important a signing for them because they affect football matches, they don’t just belong on the pitch, they feel like they have to be doing something,” Sherwood said.
Both incredible
Jota and Trossard should both be very flattered to be compared to one another as they’re both incredible players.
We can see where Sherwood is coming from with this comparison. Both players are incredibly versatile, while they’re both dynamite in front of goal when chances present themselves as well.
Not only that, they’re two of those most pro-active players in the Premier League, and every moment they’re on the pitch they’re trying to sniff out where the next goal could come from.
While other players want their teammates to do a lot of work for them, Jota and Trossard look to make things happen on their own, and that’s what makes them such dangerous attackers for both Arsenal and Liverpool.
