Jurgen Klinsmann has told the View from The Lane Podcast that Tottenham Hotspur attacker Harry Kane really reminds him of Teddy Sheringham.
Klinsmann played with Sheringham during his time in north London in the mid 1990s. The German striker left for Bayern Munich after his first season at White Hart Lane but did return for a short spell in 1998.
Sheringham followed a similar path as he moved to Manchester United and then returned to north London just six years later.
The English striker went on to win the Premier League three times with United, while picking up a Champions League title. And Klinsmann feels Kane’s style of play is similar to that of Sheringham’s.

Klinsmann says Kane reminds him of Sheringham
Speaking on the View from The Lane Podcast, he said: “His [Kane’s] decision making is just outstanding.
“He’s a bit similar to Teddy Sheringham, always making the right decisions at the right time.
“He’s a great finisher – right foot or left foot – he takes penalties which a number nine should take.
“He’s a charismatic leader, he knows what to say and to sell the club’s philosophy and ambitions and stuff like that. That’s why you badly want him to win trophies now.”

Sheringham lacked any real pace, similar to Kane. But both boast intelligence that more than makes up for any lack of athleticism.
Kane has undoubtedly proved to be a much more prolific goalscorer than Sheringham though.
The former United man managed 146 goals in 418 appearances in the Premier League. While Kane has already surpassed him 193 goals in just 294 appearances.
It’s high praise for Kane to be compared to a legend of the game like Sheringham though, especially when you consider what he achieved in his career.
Kane will be hoping that he can start to pick up major trophies at Tottenham over the next few years. His goal scoring record and all-round brilliance certainly merits picking up at least one major honour before he hangs up his boots.
