Manchester City fans have waxed lyrical about James McAtee after he won the Premier League 2 Player of the Month award.
The 18-year-old attacking midfielder was a shoo-in for the accolade considering what an amazing August he had.
In just four Premier League 2 appearances for the Citizens Under-23s, McAtee registered seven goals and one assist.

After the 0-0 opening-day draw with Liverpool, the City U23 captain grabbed hat-tricks in consecutive games.
Manchester City picked up a 4-2 win over Blackburn U23s and then beat bitter rivals Manchester United by the same scoreline.
McAtee then got another goal as City ran out 4-1 winners over fellow U23 high-flyers Chelsea.
On top of that, the teenager also got on the scoresheet in the 3-0 win over Scunthorpe in the EFL Trophy.
McAtee’s stats make for staggering reading – 32 appearances for the U23s, 16 goals and 13 assists.
Therefore, it’s no surprise that City fans are excited about what the future holds for him:
McAtee, who the City website describes as a skilful, dynamic attacking midfielder, has progressed from the Under-11s to the Elite Development Squad over the years.
In July 2020, he signed his first professional contract – surely it won’t be long before his next milestone at the Etihad.
