Signing Rico Henry would see Leeds United solve problematic conundrum

The Brentford defender has been linked with a move to Elland Road.

Leeds United have been linked with several players already this summer and one man who they should be interested in is Brentford star, Rico Henry.

The Bees failed in their quest to join the Whites in the Premier League next season, losing 2-1 to Fulham in the Championship Play-Off Final.

That could see Thomas Frank face a fierce battle to keep hold of his top stars and that included defender Henry.

The Daily Mail have claimed Leeds are interested in the 23-year-old and face a fight from West Brom, Brighton and West Ham United.

It’s a fair suggestion that Leeds could do with a left-back this summer as Marcelo Bielsa tries to bolster his squad.

Barry Douglas finished the season in the role but doubts remain over whether he could cut it at Premier League level.

Leif Davis is coming through the ranks but top-flight action probably won’t be forthcoming just yet for the youngster.

Ezgjan Alioski and Stuart Dallas have also fulfilled the duty on a makeshift basis, but Leeds will want someone more natural.

Henry would be a tremendous signing for the Whites and he has the attributes to take the Premier League by storm.

The speed demon is a modern-day full-back in the sense that he loves to venture forwards and assist with attacks.

Henry set up three goals during 2019/20 and his all-action style could see him thrive under Bielsa.

At 23, there is plenty of scope for Henry to continue improving and he’d be a savvy signing for Leeds.

It will be interesting to see who the Whites do add to their ranks this summer – and plenty will be hoping the Brentford man checks in.
