Leeds United have been linked with a move for Hull City winger Jarrod Bowen this week. As reported by 90min, the Whites have joined a host of Premier League clubs in the pursuit of Bowen, who is valued at over £20 million, as reported by the Chronicle.
Leeds are no strangers to being linked with Bowen. As reported by The Daily Mail in December last year, Leeds were keen on a move for the attacker.
This evening, Leeds fans will get to see just what Bowen offers. The 22-year-old, who has scored 15 goals in 20 Championship appearances this season, will be charged with getting the best of Leeds when they face the Tigers at Elland Road.
Undoubtedly, he looks like a top talent and one who Leeds should be targeting in January. In fact, he could be the perfect recipe to get the sour taste of last January out of their mouth regarding Daniel James.
Leeds had a deal to sign the Welsh winger from Swansea all ready to go before it got pulled at the last minute. The electric wide-man ended up impressing enough to earn a reported (BBC) £15m move to Manchester United in the summer and Leeds United fans were left wondering what might have been.
Arguably, Bowen has shown even more promise than James did in the second-tier so would be an even more impressive signature. Whilst signing him permanently looks unlikely considering his price-tag, a loan deal with an obligation to buy, as Leeds had reportedly (BBC) thrashed out for James, could be the perfect solution.
If Leeds can pull off this transfer coup in the winter, fans will have swiftly forgotten all about the failed attempt to bring James to the club.
