Manchester United continue to be linked with a move for Napoli defender Kalidou Koulibaly. According to Corriere dello Sport, the Red Devils most recently had a £91 million bid for the player rejected.
He is reportedly seen as the strong defender the club needs to go forward and he has long been on the radar for the club. But could his arrival help Tottenham Hotspur add to their own centre-back positions.
Eric Bailly is currently out of favour at United. Despite impressive early signs at Old Trafford, he has struggled with form and fitness recently.
Now, the Ivorian defender is reportedly being lined up by the likes of Tottenham and Arsenal, according to the Daily Record.
Bailly would undoubtedly be a decent addition to the Tottenham back-line, especially with concerns over the future of both Toby Alderweireld and Jan Vertonghen.
Tottenham manager Mauricio Pochettino also worked with the player briefly during his time as Espanyol manager and a reunion could be a shrewd piece of business.
If United manage to get Koulibally there is little doubt that Bailly will be forced to leave. If that proves the case, Tottenham might be waiting in the wings.
