A number of Liverpool fans have praised Nick Pope for his impressive goalkeeping display against the Reds on Saturday and some even urged Jurgen Klopp to bring him to Anfield.

Liverpool hosted Burnley at Anfield and got off to a great start with plenty of chances coming the Merseysiders’ way, though they struggled to make them count.

The Reds eventually broke the deadlock in the 34th minute, Andrew Robertson finding the back of the net with a superb drilled header from Fabinho’s delivery.

However, the Scotland star’s goal was all that would get past Pope, who pulled off numerous remarkable saves against the Premier League champions.

The 28-year-old twice denied Mohamed Salah, whose efforts seemed goalbound, and also prevented Sadio Mane finding the top corner on the stroke of half-time.

Burnley were eventually able to pull level through Jay Rodriguez’s shot on the turn and could have even won it late on but for Johann Berg Gudmundsson hitting the woodwork.

Pope’s display was the talk of Twitter during and after the game, with many calling for him to be given the England gloves for the Euros.
