Liverpool fans got themselves an in-depth glimpse at what could be yesterday as Bayern Munich midfielder, Thiago Alcantara, put on a masterful display against Chelsea.

The Reds have been linked with the Spanish midfielder over the last few months, with various outlets claiming a deal could be on the cards to see the former Barcelona man arrive on Merseyside.

Indeed, Mundo Deportivo claimed last week that the Reds were ‘expected’ to sign the midfielder, with his wages set to come in at over £200k-a-week if a deal is done.

And based on last night’s display, that would be money well spent by the Liverpool board. Thiago was everywhere for Bayern, putting Chelsea to the sword with ease over in Germany.

Reds fans, too, were impressed on Twitter and a number of supporters called on the Liverpool hierarchy to act quickly to secure their man.
