‘Side before self’: Andrea Radrizzani sums up Leeds United in six-word tweet

Leeds United ran out comfortable winners this afternoon against Spurs, and Andrea Radrizzani was delighted with what he saw.

The Leeds supremo took time out to on social media following the game to tweet about the performance and result. And responding to respected journalist Henry Winter, Radrizzani used just six words to sum up his Leeds team.

Radrizzani’s tweet in response to Winter was bang on, too. And if ever a game epitomised the spirit he mentions, it was against Spurs today.

Despite Spurs levelling the game through Heung-Min Son, Leeds were never really in any danger of losing. They cut open Ryan Mason’s men time and again and had the quality when it mattered, as Rodrigo tucked in following Patrick Bamford’s effort.

This Leeds team is so similar to the Sheffield United team of last year. The crucial difference for Bielsa, however, is he has the quality at the top end of the pitch.

Radrizzani, then, is clearly delighted with what he’s seeing and will no doubt back Bielsa over the summer.

TBR View: Leeds deserved everything they got, they were superb

Everyone expected this Leeds side to drop off a bit but they just haven’t. If anything, they’ve got better and better, especially defensively.

Bielsa deserves so much credit for what he has done with the club. His signings have paid off – when fit – and he now gets another summer to add yet more quality to the ranks.

Europe could very much be on the cards for Leeds if they can continue their upward trend.
