Should Wolves take a punt on Bordeaux winger Samuel Kalu?

After a mixed start to life in the Premier League, Wolves fans will be pleased with how the club has adapted upon their return to the top flight.

Wolves are 11th in the league and mid-table solidity is a good return from their opening games.

But in Nuno Espirito Santo, Wolves have a manager who is constantly striving for improvement.

The Portuguese boss will not be content with a mid-table finish; he will want his side pushing for European football.

Wolves will undoubtedly be keeping their eye out for potential new additions in the January transfer window.

And could their hunt lead them to Samuel Kalu – the Bordeaux winger who appears to be Malcom’s replacement at the Ligue 1 club.

Kalu plays on either wing and has enjoyed an impressive start to life at Bordeaux, after moving from Belgian side Gent.

The 21-year-old has scored once and has registered one assist in eight league starts for Bordeaux.

While he is far from the finished product, Kalu has natural talent and all the physical attributes to potentially shine in the Premier League.

The Nigeria international, who has already scored his first senior international goal, has lightning pace, deceptive skill and he is both-footed.

Wolves should run the rule over the young winger this season before considering a move for him.
