Tottenham Hotspur have held a longstanding interest in Wilfried Zaha. But could Everton’s latest transfer plot help Spurs finally land their man?
Everton are desperate to land Aaron Wan-Bissaka from Crystal Palace, as per The Sun.
The 20-year-old has been one of the Eagles’ top players this season and he has impressed for England under-21 as well.
With Seamus Coleman nearing the back end of his playing career, Wan-Bissaka is seen as his long-term successor.
In order to land this deal, The Sun reports that Everton could offer Ademola Lookman to Crystal Palace in return.
Could Lookman be Zaha’s long-term replacement? It might pave the way for his move to Tottenham.
Spurs have been looking for reinforcements in attacking midfield since the summer.
Zaha was high on their list of targets, but Crystal Palace’s £70m demands put Tottenham off.
But Mauricio Pochettino’s men might be encouraged by the possibility of Lookman heading to Selhurst Park.
Lookman is an exciting young talent with a similar playing style to Zaha. He is far from the finished product and Crystal Palace will obviously want to keep their star man.
But Spurs could return with another bid should Lookman move to Crystal Palace.
Zaha would be an excellent addition for Spurs, as long as he could consistently perform like he has been doing for Crystal Palace.
