N’Golo Kanté
This one shouldn’t come as too much of a surprise as a number of top English clubs will be looking to the Frenchman this summer.
As a holding midfielder, not many in Europe were better than N’Golo Kanté in the last season, with the energetic former Caen man being one of the key reasons behind Leicester City’s title win. The obvious ‘one-season wonder’ tag has already been thrown at the ball-winning midfielder, but his performances at the Euros so far suggest he is the real deal.
At £20 million, in the current market, you can’t really go wrong. The most effective midfielder in the league last season, he made the most interceptions out of anyone and at Chelsea, he would provide a good sidebar to Nemanja Matic in the anchor of the field, or in all honesty, could even replace the Serbian in the starting XI.
If last term is anything to go by, Chelsea could do with another man protecting the defence and they don’t come in much better than Kanté.
