Should Newcastle put defender Leonardo Koutris on their radar?

Newcastle United certainly have a weakness at left-back in their squad and could be in trouble if Paul Dummett is ruled out of the upcoming trip against Burnley with injury.

Dummett returned from internatonal duty with Wales early due to an injury setback and there are very little options behind him in the pecking order.

Manager Rafael Benitez could certainly do with an extra quality left-back in the squad, so should he consider casting his eye over a reported West Ham target.

According to the Mirror, West Ham are lining up a £5million move for Olympiakos defender Leonardo Koutris in January.

The 23-year-old is a Greece international who earned his first senior cap in a 1-0 win over Finland in the Nations League on Thursday.

Koutris is a promising young left-back that has managed to break into the Olympiacos side and has enjoyed Europa League experience this campaign.

The 5ft 9in defender has excellent pace and likes to drive forward, which is why he could be an interesting option for Premier League clubs.

West Ham have the Greek flyer on their radar, but he could well be an excellent £5million target for Newcastle in order to find some competition for Dummett.
