Leeds United youngster Ryan Edmondson once again impressed for the Under-23s side on Friday and he looks like he could become a first-team player in the near future.
The 17-year-old sensation scored a hat-trick in a 4-1 victory over Barnsley at Oakwell, which highlighted his predatory instincts in front of goal.
He is a centre-forward that has been in great form at youth level and has also featured twice at senior level in the Championship this season.
But realistically his senior chances are going to be limited this campaign due to his age and the amount of quality in forward areas at Elland Road through the shape of Tyler Roberts, Kemar Roofe and Patrick Bamford.
Leeds manager Marcelo Bielsa is well aware of the rising star and a good way to fast-track him up to the level required could be a temporary exit on loan in January.
Edmondson could develop massively in the second half of the season if he was sent out on loan to either a League One or League Two club.
The striker has a physical presence that could see him thrive with senior football, but he won’t really know until he’s tried it and it would be a greater learning curve that youth football.
There are a handful of upcoming talents around the Yorkshire giants that appear destined for senior roles and Edmondson could jump on that path by impressing out on loan.
