Should Leeds consider loan move for Everton’s Beni Baningime?

Leeds United fans are hopeful that this can be the season they finally earn promotion back to the Premier League, but they know only too well how gruelling a long 46-game Championship season can be.

Manager Marcelo Bielsa will surely have to reinforce his options in January to sustain a push for the top spots and adding some extra dynamism in midfield would be useful.

The Whites previously had Matthew Pennington on loan at Elland Road last season from Everton and should consider a raid on the Premier League club again.

Toffees midfielder Beni Baningime is exactly the type of loan signing that would boost Leeds for the second half of the season and should be on their radar.

The 20-year-old is a no-nonsense central midfielder that could provide an alternative to Kalvin Phillips and is technically gifted too.

He broke into the Everton first team last season from the academy, but injuries this term and a wave of new signings means he’s slipped back down the pecking order at Goodison Park.

Baningime would benefit massively from some regular senior football as he looks to continue his development and Elland Road could be a great fit for both parties.

The midfielder would provide an extra body for a Bielsa team that demands a lot of work-rate and he could be a shrewd addition in January if a move is explored.
