Should Jose Mourinho look to engineer reunion with Diogo Dalot at Tottenham?

Jose Mourinho has coaxed some early improvement out of Serge Aurier already during his Tottenham reign but the fact remains that he needs to sign a new right back.

The last right back he signed was when he was in charge of Manchester United, bringing Diogo Dalot to Old Trafford in 2018.

Mourinho tends to favour more experienced signings, especially in defence, so bringing in Dalot was a huge show of faith in his ability, and he raved about his countryman to United’s website last December.

He saidEverybody knows that he has fantastic potential.

He is probably the same age as Gary Neville when he came into the first team. Probably he can follow Neville in this dynamic of more than 10 years as United’s right-back, with amazing conditions to improve.

TBR’s View – Should Mourinho consider reunion with Dalot?

Tottenham need a right back and there’s a young one who Mourinho clearly rates and has worked with before, currently playing second fiddle at his club.

Dalot is coming back to fitness and may be worth considering for Tottenham. Perhaps a deal involving Christian Eriksen going the other way, with United adding some cash could have some legs?

Tottenham fans may not be too enthused by Dalot because he hasn’t shown a lot in English football yet, but he has pace, energy and plenty of space to improve.
