Joe Gomez was a surprise absentee for Liverpool in their win over Watford on Saturday afternoon, but it appears that the in-form youngster will be available for the Reds when they travel to Paris in midweek for a crucial Champions League fixture.
“In the last second of yesterday’s session, he got a little knock. We thought: ‘Come on, let’s bring him and have a look in the morning.’ He said it was 80 per cent better, that’s good. So he’s no doubt for Wednesday,” Jurgen Klopp insisted speaking to the club’s official website.
That is good news for Klopp, who would otherwise be missing a key member of his squad, but he does now face a major selection headache.

In the absence of Gomez, Dejan Lovren returned to the starting line-up and produced an assured display which helped to set a new record for the low number of goals conceded by the team this season.
Now, the German coach must decide whether to drop the Croatian even after his strong performance, or whether to stick with the same defence that played so well at Vicarage Road.
Both options are exciting ones for Liverpool, but up against Neymar, Kylian Mbappe and Edinson Cavani, Klopp must be fully behind whoever he selects.
