‘Should have buried them’ – These West Ham fans were cursing missed opportunity

West Ham continued to slide towards the bottom three with yet another defeat, this time, at Arsenal.

The Hammers put in decent enough display at the Emirates but saw Alexandre Lacazette snatch all three points for the Gunners with just over ten minutes to play.

This latest result puts David Moyes’ men level on points with the bottom three. It’s a position Hammers fans would rather be well clear of but they are now firmly in a relegation fight.

Despite the lack of possession for the Hammers, they probably could and maybe should have snatched something from the game.

West Ham registered six shots on target to Arsenal’s two, while they also had more corners than the home side.

However, it was not to be, as the likes of Sebastien Haller and Michail Antonio struggled to put away any of the chances created.

For Arsenal, it puts them into tenth and, remarkably, just three points off fifth place. Given their terrible start to the campaign, it’s quite impressive that Mikel Arteta has them in with a shout of Europe again.

But it was the West Ham fans who were gutted following the game. And many of them took to Twitter to voice their displeasure at the result, although there was some sympathy from some supporters.
