‘Should have been a red’: Leeds fans baffled by decision not to send George Baldock off

Leeds United won 2-1 against Yorkshire rivals Sheffield United today, but some Whites fans were left baffled by the referees decision not to send George Baldock off.

The Blades right back absolutely flattened Tyler Roberts in the first half but somehow came off worse from the challenge. Ironically, Baldock ended up going off just before half-time, unable to continue due to concussion protocols.

Baldock’s challenge was a bad one. Most of the time this season, it would have at least gone to VAR for a look but on this occasion, onlooking supporters got to see nothing of it, with Baldock escaping unpunished.

And despite the win over the Blades, the challenge and decision didn’t sit well with Leedss fans on Twitter.

Some Whites fans felt they’d been hard done to by Baldock being allowed to continue, and one fan even pointed out a similar challenge Kalvin Phillips was punished for previously.
