Everton midfielder Mohamed Besic has hit a purple patch of form out on loan with Middlesbrough, which may leave fans curious as to if they’ve made a mistake sanctioning his exit.
The in-form 26-year-old scored one and assisted another on Friday night, as he helped Boro to a 2-1 win over Sheffield Wednesday and saw his side climb to the top of the Championship table.
He moved to the Riverside in the summer on a season-long loan, but did spend the second half of last season out on loan with Boro too.
Besic is a combative enforcer that provides serious power in the centre of the park and an immense work-rate.
The central midfielder has also now scored two goals in his last three games and can be a serious threat going forward.
His poor luck with injuries at the Merseyside club has certainly damaged his opportunities and Silva decided not to keep him around the first team this season.
Besic is good enough to make an impact in the Premier League when in decent form, but inconsistency been an issue for him at Goodison Park and he seems to have found a great level in the Championship.
Everton also have several talented central midfielders at their disposal now and it’s difficult to see how he could fit into the picture.
