At the start of the 2015/16 Premier League campaign, Crystal Palace were a side who looked as though they had all the components to be a real force in the division, potentially even challenging for Europa League qualification in a manner similar to that of Southampton.
However, from the New Year onwards, they have endured a horrendous slump in form, something that Alan Pardew suffered through at Newcastle United in the past too. It is probable that The Eagles will look to spend in the summer; backed by the increased Premier League funding, to avoid a continuation of the down-turn into 2016/17.
A definite positive to take from the season is that they have managed to progress into the FA Cup final, and recruitment will certainly become notably easier should they provide a shock later this month and defeat Manchester United.
Palace certainly have some inherent strengths to build around, and so with the three signings proposed over the next few pages, could they begin to over-achieve once more? Leave your thoughts on the choices in the comments section below, perhaps suggesting alternatives.
