‘Should come in’: Some Spurs fans want 23-year-old to start on Monday, ‘perfect’ game for him

A number of Tottenham Hotspur fans have expressed their desire to see Spurs newcomer Joe Rodon in Jose Mourinho’s starting XI on Monday.

The Wales international joined Tottenham from Swansea at the end of the domestic transfer window last week, in a deal reported to be £11million plus add-ons.

Although Rodon’s arrival came too late to make the club’s Europa League squad, he has been included in Spurs’ 25-man Premier League squad.

The Clarets are a defensively resilient outfit with tentative attacks usually involving direct balls up to the attackers – 6ft 3in Chris Wood and 6ft 1in Ashley Barnes.

Therefore, Rodon seems like the logical choice to line up as one of the centre-backs, but it remains to be seen what Mourinho will opt for in Lancashire on Monday.
