Marquinhos

The young Brazilian defender is one of the hottest prospects across Europe and having previously expressed his dissatisfaction at a relative lack of first-team action with PSG, Marquinhos could well jump at the chance to sign for Chelsea.

Having taken the decision to not renew John Terry’s contract, the club legend will depart at the end of the campaign and this has the result of leaving them not only short of leaders in the dressing room, but perhaps more of an immediate concern being a lack of quality at centre-half.

Branislav Ivanovic; who has been a useful asset when filling in at centre-half as opposed to operating at his preferred right-back berth, is also on the wrong side of 30 and has not enjoyed a stellar campaign. The prospect of Kurt Zouma; still recovering from a serious injury, alongside the Brazilian as the future of Chelsea’s back-line is certainly an attractive proposition for those at Stamford Bridge.
