Should Celtic look at Dan Crowley as long-term Scott Brown successor?

Scott Brown is now 33 but he is still one of the first names on the Celtic team sheet when fit.

However, Brendan Rodgers will still be preparing for life without his captain as he is entering the final few years of his contract.

Celtic need a new long-term replacement for Brown to take over his role in central midfield.

Could ex-Arsenal youngster Dan Crowley be the man to solve this conundrum for Rodgers?

Crowley is finally realising the potential he showed at Arsenal. The former England youth international is a ball-playing central midfielder who can do both the defensive and offensive duties required of him.

In a recent interview, the youngster revealed that his family support Celtic.

Could this prompt Rodgers to explore the possibility of signing Crowley when the January window opens?

With two goals and four assists for Willem II this season, Crowley is standing out as the latest young British player to make his name abroad.

The former Aston Villa schoolboy is now hoping to represent the Republic of Ireland and a move to Celtic could help him achieve that dream and please his family too.
