Anthony Ralston is widely considered to be one of Celtic and Scotland’s best young talents.
Celtic hold high hopes for their youngster but his game could develop better if he was getting regular playing time out on loan.
The 19-year-old was on the bench at the weekend but he is yet to feature for the first-team this season.
With just eight senior Celtic games to his name, he should be seeking a January loan exit to improve his game.
The talented teenager has spent time out on loan before. His first spell was with Queens’ Park in the 2015/16 season.
And he played 13 games at Dundee United last term as well.
Brendan Rodgers has recently hailed Ryan Christie’s loan spell with Aberdeen. He claims that his time with the Dons helped him adapt to the physicality needed to be a success at Celtic.
And now Ralston could follow that same career path. If he makes a name for himself at another Scottish Premiership side, then Rodgers could use him next season.
Ralston is considered to be Celtic’s long-term right-back solution as Mikael Lustig comes towards the end of his career.
And he is also the future hope for the Scotland national team in a problem position.
But in order for him to realise his potential, he should use the January window to sort out a loan exit.
