Manchester City are willing to cut their losses over French international defender Eliaquim Mangala this summer, according to the Telegraph.
They report that City have lost patience with the centre half and have told him that he will not be involved with the first team squad if he stays beyond this current window.
The report says that Mangala signed for a whopping £42 million but they are willing to take a huge loss on him because they see it as the only way to get him off the books.
And with Mangala having been told in no uncertain terms that the time has come to find a move, should Celtic be in the hunt?
Many Celtic fans may look at Mangala’s performances in recent times and think that their club shouldn’t swoop, but it’s not often that an international centre half becomes available for free.
The Bhoys need to tighten up at the back and find a replacement for Filip Benkovic, who has returned to Leicester after a hugely impressive loan spell.
Mangala should certainly be one to consider because a deal looks there to be done with City, to get a free transfer for an experienced defender who had quality when he was on his best form.
