West Ham United striker Andy Carroll has emerged as a surprising target for Tottenham, as they seek to cover for Harry Kane, according to the Sun.
They report that Spurs could pick up the English hitman for just £2m this month because his contract at the London Stadium is expiring at the end of the season.
West Ham’s decision on whether to let Carroll leave will apparently depend on whether or not Manuel Pellegrini keeps hold of Marko Arnautovic.
The Austrian hitman was all set to move to the Chinese Super League but that deal appears to be off the table now, with no club matching West Ham’s £50m asking price.

Fernando Llorente toiled up front against Fulham yesterday, compounding his misery by putting through his own net, as he looked rusty and short on confidence.
But Carroll is not the resolution Tottenham need – he does not fit in with their style of play, his fitness issues are well-documented, he would be expensive in terms of wages and his professionalism has been questioned in the past.
As frustrating as Llorente is, Tottenham might as well stick with him, rather than hang their hopes on Carroll to pull them out of the goalscoring mire.
