A number of Tottenham Hotspur players are currently away on international duty, mostly for friendlies but with some in qualifying or playoff action.
For instance, Spurs trio Ben Davies, Brennan Johnson and Joe Rodon will be hoping to get Wales over the line and into the finals of Euro 2024.
Meanwhile, Tottenham captain Son Heung-min is in 2026 World Cup qualifying action. And then there are numerous Spurs youth players in competitive action.
However, many of Tottenham’s senior players will be contesting friendlies, and several club teammates could potentially be on opposing sides of the pitch.
James Maddison, who is in the England team, could be up against Richarlison when the Three Lions take on Brazil in Saturday’s friendly at Wembley.
Should Maddison score, there’s a good chance he could celebrate with the ‘Sheriff’, which entails placing your hand above your eyes and shielding them from the sun.
The likes of Jude Bellingham, Jordan Henderson and Trent Alexander-Arnold have also been involved with the ‘Sheriff’ celebration, as per the Daily Mail.
Today, Bellingham took to Instagram to share a story of him and Maddison in training, tagging the £170,000-a-week Spurs ace and adding the caption ‘Sheriff’ alongside a telescope emoji.

It’s good to see so much camaraderie between England players ahead of one of the biggest tournaments for the Three Lions in a long time.
England have a star-studded squad that genuinely seems to have a good chance of going all the way.
Let’s hope we get to see Maddison get on the scoresheet and get the opportunity to do the ‘Sheriff’ over the next week.
England are in action against Brazil at Wembley on Saturday evening before taking on Belgium at the same venue on Tuesday night.
Tottenham then return to action after the international break when they host Luton Town in north London on Saturday 30 March.
