Sheffield United manager Chris Wilder is confident his side can beat Arsenal – and continue their struggles away from home – on Monday night.
Wilder was typically forthright about his side’s chances of seeing off Unai Emery’s men, having run table-toppers Liverpool exceptionally close last time out.
As per Sky Sports, Wilder said: “We are competitive and we fancy our chances. We are bullish as you can obviously imagine because that is the approach that we take. We were against Liverpool.
“The crowd have been absolutely amazing at home. They know how important it is for them to be on the front foot and make it hostile and noisy. A night game at Bramall Lane under the lights, live on Sky, something that we are really looking forward to and getting after the opposition.”
TBR’s View – Repeat of Liverpool display should earn Sheffield United a result
The Blades caused Liverpool all manner of problems when they visited Bramall Lane and if they put Arsenal under similar pressure, they should get a result.
Arsenal have struggled badly to keep clean sheets and get results on the road for a number of years now and the hostile atmosphere on Monday night may intimidate them further.
That said, there is a feel of optimism around the club and defensive reinforcements are returning to fitness so the match could prove something of an acid test.
