A number of Sheffield United fans have taken to Twitter to comment on reports from The Sun on Sunday (5/1; page 61) suggesting that Leeds United want to sign Luke Freeman.

Freeman has not had the easiest time since moving to Bramall Lane in the summer. The 27-year-old has made just three Premier League starts this term, with six appearances coming from the bench.

And The Sun on Sunday (5/1; page 61) reported that Leeds are keen on signing Freeman on loan for the rest of the season. It was suggested that both clubs were hopeful of doing a deal.

Marcelo Bielsa’s side appear to need greater depth in attacking areas. They have lost loanees Jack Clarke and Eddie Nketiah this month, and Freeman is reportedly one name on the Championship leaders’ radar.

It must be noted that Freeman has since played down the idea of leaving this month, in comments reported by the Sheffield Star.

And it appears that his comments will please a number of Blades fans. The supporters have been impressed with what they have seen from Freeman so far. And they do not believe that a loan move to Elland Road makes sense.

It certainly appears that a deal looks unlikely at this stage. But how some of the Sheffield United fans have reacted to the reports will further excite Leeds fans should they manage to get a move across the line.
