Sheffield United are in a great position to win promotion to the Premier League this season.

The Blades are three points behind Leeds United in second and Chris Wilder’s men are in great form.

One of the driving forces behind such an impressive campaign is goalkeeper Dean Henderson.

The 21-year-old, on loan from Manchester United, has played in every Championship game this season.

It would appear that his impressive form hasn’t gone unnoticed, with Arsenal keen to do a deal, according to ESPN.

The Gunners’ current backup custodian, Petr Cech, is due to retire in the summer.

The Czech’s retirements plans will leave Unai Emery with a void to fill in his goalkeeping department.

Interest gathering

Henderson is set to be sought-after; with reports suggesting that European giants Bayern Munich and Juventus are closely monitoring the situation.

The England u-21 international has kept 10 clean sheets this season; with only Middlesbrough and Bristol City boasting better defensive records than the Blades.

Henderson moving to Arsenal would mean that his career would take a similar path to that of Everton goalkeeper Jordan Pickford.

Whilst he was coming through the ranks at Sunderland, Pickford spent time learning his trade with several Football League clubs.

He eventually caught the eye of Everton and got himself a big money move.

Henderson is on his third loan spell away from the Red Devils having already spent time at Shrewsbury and Grimsby.

The chances of first-team football at Old Trafford look remote.

Arsenal, however, are a club in transition.

With doubts over Bernd Leno, there is every possibility that the youngster could wrestle the gloves away from the German.

If he can establish himself as a regular at the Emirates Stadium, he will surely have Pickford’s England spot firmly in his sights.
